The Building Inspector and his assistants are the enforcement authority for the Zoning Ordinance, Building Code and a multitude of other regulations. This department also reviews plans and conducts inspections through the numerous stages of a construction project.

About the Operation of the Code Authority

The Township Code Authority (TCA) of Midland County was organized on May 1, 1996 to provide services to the townships of Edenville, Geneva, Greendale, Homer, Hope, Jasper, Larkin, Lee, Mils and Warren, to the Cities of Auburn and Coleman, and to the Village of Merrill. Each municipality has one representative that shall sit on the board of directors.

The TCA provides plumbing, mechanical, electrical and building inspections to the above mentioned municipalities.

The TCA holds monthly meetings, usually on the fourth Thursday of each month, at Midland County Services Building, First Floor Conference Room. Public attendance is welcome. (Please call the office to confirm the meeting date.) The budge its adopted at the annual March meeting. The fiscal year begins in April. All budges are adopted on activity basis.

The TCA has only a general fund and no investments. Only a checking account is maintained. The TCA has one employee.
